Business Transactions
Our business and commercial legal services include general counsel and strategic planning, as well as document preparation and review for specific transactions. Businesses for which the firm has provided legal services include art galleries, contractors, manufacturers, medical equipment distributors, medical practitioners, retail businesses, restaurants and bars, and web developers.
Civil Litigation
We limit our civil litigation cases to the trial level in both State and Federal court, and do not generally practice in the appellate systems. Examples of cases that the firm has been involved in include breach of contract, land disputes, personal injury, quiet title to real property, torts, and unfair trade practices.
Criminal Defense
Although criminal defense is a small portion of our practice, we accept misdemeanor criminal cases, which are generally limited to disorderly conduct, DUI / DWAI, petty theft, and traffic offenses.
Juvenile Law
We provide representation for children, foster parents, and parents in dependency and neglect cases. Beth represents the best interests of children in juvenile delinquency cases and as a child's legal representative in dissolution of marriage cases. She represents the best interests of children, children, foster parents, and parents before the Colorado Court of Appeals. We also assist families with adoptions.
Mediation
Our firm offers mediation services to both private parties and government agencies. Paul has mediated and successfully settled disputes in a broad range of areas, and has developed a unique approach to mediating divorce settlements, which we refer to as "constructive divorce." The "constructive divorce" process involves both parties working directly with one of our attorneys as a mediator, to negotiate an agreement, which can include asset and debt distribution, a parenting plan, and financial support obligations. The mediator then prepares the written agreements and other necessary court documents. Both Paul and Beth Padilla are professionally trained mediators.
Wills & Trusts
We offer document preparation services, which include Designated Beneficiary Agreements, Disposition of Last Remains, Living Wills, Medical Powers of Attorney, Trusts, and Wills. We also handle probate and ancillary probate proceedings for real property interests.
